Hillside Missions does welfare and social development into the surrounding villages of Tzaneen. In Limpopo Province there are over 3000 villages. Limpopo Province is the largest rural Province in South Africa with over 5,5 million people. We are working into many different villages as far as 160km away. Our aim is to spread the love of God in a practical way amongst the poor and needy. Our goal is the great commission to bring souls to the kingdom and equip them to wholeness through discipleship, so that they can be self-sufficient, trusting in God for their sufficiency and reach out to their community being a blessing to those around them building into the lives of others.

To this end Hillside Missions focuses using various spiritual and practical equipping courses to self-empower the poor and break the yoke of poverty. We have established a Training Foundation to equip leaders, pastors and individuals with spiritual and practical training. One of our core values is to equip individuals so that they can rely and trust on God breaking any dependency on man. Hillside Missions has done immediate relief work into different surrounding villages building water tanks, drilling boreholes, building classrooms, constructing jungle gyms, septic tanksand putting up fencing. One of the courses we teach is Farming Gods Way. This is anincredible agricultural tool that both equips and teaches the poor how to grow their own food in a sustainable way that has the potential to break the yoke of poverty over the poor and to feed the nations. We support a local church in one of the poorest villages of Limpopo that runs a daily feeding scheme providing wholesome meals to the local children. Our model FGW garden provides fresh vegetables for the feeding scheme.

Isaiah 58:5-8  5 Is this the kind of fast I have chosen, only a day for people to humble themselves? Is it only for bowing one’s head like a reed and for lying in sackcloth and ashes?Is that what you call a fast, a day acceptable to the Lord? 6 “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? 7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? 8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
