Hillside Agri
Our agricultural sector is managed by Hillside Agri (Pty) Ltd. The farm boasts a stunning view of the Tzaneen Valley and surrounds. The environment is peaceful and luscious, offering a sweet escape from the metropolitan hustle and bustle. National tourist attractions, such as the Kruger National Park and the Magoebaskloof hiking and waterfall reserve, are well situated within our vicinity.
Farming
The farm is approximately 46 ha in size. The slopes are planted with 12.5 ha of Macadamia trees and 5 ha of avocado trees. There are also small areas of citrus as well as a number of litchi trees. There are two beautiful dams on the farm fed by a number of streams that run throughout the year. Water for residents is provided by a borehole and provides fresh clean water each day. The remaining land is natural bush with a bush trail running through for visitors to enjoy the natural surroundings and beautiful views the farm offers.
Our second farm is predominantly a macadamia farm. We have planted a number of new macadamia trees as well as developed a dam to irrigate the growing trees.
Sustainability and Organic Methods
We do not classify our farm as a strictly organic agricultural endeavour but we believe in farming as sustainably as possible. Our goal is to farm in a way that respects the natural order and process of organic plant growth. We do not use excessive amounts of fertilisers and in-organic pesticides. Our farming methods are kind to the natural surroundings of our farm and we do not over use the soil and land.
